Archiving portraits for over 20,000 Firefighters and their Families. Established to preserve each firefighter's legacy of bravery and service so future generations will know the names and faces of the men and women who responded to 9/11, Columbine, Katrina, Oklahoma City, San Bernardino, earthquakes, wildfires and more.
Recently, the work was recognized by The Smithsonian Institution where several of the original cameras and a selection of portraits from various departments are now permanently archived. They are intended to represent all the photos of firefighters taken by Laura Yanes
This new site does not contain all photos taken. They are archived and safe and require considerable effort to load them all here. Requests for uploading are fulfilled immediately.
