Since July, 2001, Laura Yanes has captured the faces of this generation of firefighters who responded to 9/11, Oklahoma City, Columbine, Texas tornados, California Wildfires, Hurricanes Katrina and Sandy, and more. Photos are safely stored for families and future historians to cherish. Some of the portraits are now permanently archived by The Smithsonian Institution along with cameras used to honor firefighters.
The Archive represents firefighters from New York, Maryland, Virginia, Texas, California, Tennessee, New Mexico, Nevada, Colorado, and more.
